The Diamond House

The Diamond House is a trauma-informed residential program operated by L.I.F.E. 2.O, Inc., designed for justice-involved young adults (ages 18–25) transitioning from Secure Youth Treatment Facilities (SYTFs) into independent living.

Why “Diamond”?

Just as a diamond is formed under pressure and refined into brilliance, residents at the Diamond House transform adversity into resilience. Every young man is seen as a precious gem in the making, with the potential to shine beyond his past.

“Just as pressure shapes a diamond, adversity can shape resilience.”

The Diamond Process

Polishing Potential. Restoring Hope. Building Futures.

Just as coal under pressure transforms into a diamond, our residents move through a guided process of growth and resilience. At the Diamond House, we call this The Diamond Process. Like diamonds shaped under pressure, our residents grow through a healing-centered process:

Our Mission

To provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where young adults can heal from trauma, rebuild their lives, and take meaningful steps toward independence.

Shaping Second Chances

You’ve received a jewelry bag with two stones inside: a clear diamond gem and a black gem representing coal. Alongside them is a scroll with a message that speaks to who our residents are and the role you play in their journey.

These stones represent more than symbols:

For our judges and partners, these stones honor your role in turning adversity into a second chance.

The coal gem reflects the weight of their past and the challenges they carry.

The diamond gem symbolizes our residents’ growth—precious, resilient, and full of potential.

At The Diamond House, we help justice-involved young adults break cycles of trauma and incarceration through The Diamond Process—a program inspired by how diamonds form under pressure. Founded by Richard “Tabari” Richard, who spent 43.5 years incarcerated, our mission is to turn past adversity into resilience, offering mentorship, healing, and opportunity.

Our residents confront Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)—like abuse, neglect, or parental incarceration—learning to reflect, reframe, and rise with support. Guided by lived experience, mindfulness, and restorative practices, our team, including Deputy Director Serafin Leon, who spent 32 years wrongfully incarcerated, provides compassionate leadership and real-world guidance.

The Diamond House isn’t just a home—it’s a launchpad for transformation, where young adults heal, grow, and reclaim their future.
